Nissan key types by year

Nissan has used three kinds of keys. Most models from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s use a transponder key: a metal key with a chip in the head that the car checks before it will start. Nissan calls this system NATS. From about 2007, much of the line moved to the Intelligent Key, a proximity fob for cars with push-button start, and some newer models still use a transponder key with a regular turn ignition. Tell us the year and model and we will say which key your car takes.

Altima, Sentra, Maxima, Versa, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Murano, Pathfinder, Armada, Kicks, Juke, Frontier, Titan and 370Z, along with most other Nissan models from the late 1990s onward.

All keys lost

Dealer-level equipment

Later Nissans call for diagnostic-level programming tools, the kind dealers use. We carry current dealer-level equipment, so even the newer cars are done where they sit. No tow and no dealer appointment.
