Hyundai key types by year

Many Hyundais built before the mid-2000s use a plain metal key with no chip, which is simple to duplicate. From the mid-2000s, most models carry a transponder chip inside the key. From about 2011, much of the line moved to flip keys and smart keys with push-button start. Hyundai has used many different part numbers across these years, sometimes several for a single model year, so the exact key depends on the year, model and trim.

All keys lost

Losing the only key does not mean a tow to the dealer. We come to the car, make a new key and program it to the immobilizer. On smart-key cars we supply and program the proximity fob on the spot. What to have ready for an all-keys-lost visit.

Newer cars included

Some late-model Hyundais use security that calls for dealer-level programming tools. Our equipment is current, so we can take jobs that other mobile services turn away.

What it costs

There is no single price for a Hyundai key. A spare transponder key and an all-keys-lost smart key are different jobs, and part numbers vary inside one model. Call with the year and model for an exact quote.

Can you replace a Hyundai flip key?

Yes. We supply the correct flip key for the car, cut it and program it.

My push-button start says key not detected. Can you help?

Often that is a fob battery or a fob that has lost its programming. We can test it and program a new one if needed.

Do I need to know the part number?

No. The year, model and trim are enough for us to identify the right key.
