Chevrolet car keys
Lost the key to your Chevrolet, or want a spare before that happens? We come to the car anywhere in Central, South or North Jersey, from a Silverado on a job site to a Malibu in your driveway, and cut and program the key where the car sits.

Chevrolet key types by year
Chevrolet has run through several systems. Many models from the mid-1990s to the late 2000s use GM’s PassLock system, where the security lives in the ignition cylinder and the metal key looks like an ordinary key. Most models from the 2000s onward moved to a transponder key with a chip in the head, and many 2010-and-newer Chevrolets take a flip key or a proximity smart key for push-button start. Tell us the year and model and we will tell you exactly which key your car uses.
Models we cover
Silverado, Malibu, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado, Camaro, Cruze, Impala, Sonic, Spark, Blazer, Trailblazer, Trax, Corvette and Express vans, along with most other Chevrolet models from the mid-1990s onward.
All keys lost
If every key is gone, there is no need to tow the car to a dealer. We come to where the Chevrolet is parked, decode the locks, cut a new key from the car itself and program it to the anti-theft system. On push-button models we also cut the emergency blade hidden inside the smart key. More about how an all-keys-lost job works.
Dealer-level equipment
Newer Chevrolets need diagnostic-level programming equipment, the same kind the dealer uses. We carry current dealer-level tools, so the job gets done where the car sits. No tow, no dealer appointment.
What it costs
The price depends on the exact car: the year, the key type, and whether you still have a working key. Call with the year, model and your situation and we will give you a quote before any work starts.
Questions we hear
My Chevrolet key looks like a plain metal key. Does it have a chip?
Often not: on PassLock cars from the mid-1990s to the late 2000s the security is in the ignition, not the key. Later models do use a chipped key. We can tell you from the year and model.
Can you make a Chevrolet key if I lost my only one?
Yes. All-keys-lost is a regular job for us, and everything needed comes to the car.
How long does it take?
Most Chevrolet keys are made and programmed in one visit, usually under an hour on site.
We also make keys for Nissan, Hyundai, Audi, Land Rover, Ford, Dodge, Jeep and Infiniti.
